The Pines Cottage Resort is located in North Muskoka, just seven miles from the West Gate of Algonquin Park, the crown jewel of the Ontario Provincial Park system. Our proximity to Algqonquin Park means your stay at The Pines can be as active or as relaxing as you would like it. Take in all that Algonquin Park has to offer. Nature trails, which range from gentle hikes to strenuous climbs, each of which explore a different aspect of Algonquin's varied geography. The Park is home to a world class Visitor's Centre, telling the Algonquin Story to visitors from around the world. The Algonquiin Park Logging Museum, is a living history of life in a logging camp in the 1800s. The Algonquin Art Gallery with both outdoor and indoor exhibits and a well appointed gift boutique is an essential stop in Algonquin Park.
The Pines Cottage Resort has a long standing reputation for its friendly atmosphere. Over the years guests have made friendships with other guests which extend to socializing with each other throughout the entire year. The Pines Cottage Resort was purchased in the early spring of 2008 by Kim & Marilyn Smith. The Smiths' are the owners of Camp Tanamakoon for girls and Bartlett Lodge, a Modified American Plan Resort. Both businesses are located in the heart of Algonquin Park and have been operated by the Smiths' for over 12 years. The Smiths' experience in the resort industry and their knowledge of the local area means The Pines Cottage Resort will build on its already strong reputation as a quiet friendly retreat on the doorstep of Algonquin Park.
